Groveland Council on Aging reports abrupt coordinator resignation amid steady budget news. Director Alyssa Lee told the board program coordinator Elizabeth Troll resigned effective March 16, prompting a revised part-time administrative posting at $20 an hour for 16 hours a week. The agency received $10,233 from the state formula grant in February and a $1,200 Local Cultural Council reimbursement, while van drivers' pay rose from $17 to $18 an hour under a townwide cost-of-living increase.
New van driver Dorca Fernandez began shadowing this week. Board member Linda warned of scams costing residents thousands of dollars, saying "you can never say yes" to unsolicited callers. Friends of the Groveland Council on Aging president Larry McElhenney reported about 30 people attended a corned beef and cribbage fundraiser, with the group's annual yard sale set for May 2 and a $10 town permit fee waived by the Board of Selectmen.
