Groveland's Council on Aging director search committee meets to speed up hiring after past delays. The seven-member panel, chaired by board vice chair Barbara Sanborn, reviewed the newly posted job description, a fixed FY27 salary and GIC health benefits split 75-25 between town and employee. Member Peg Wallace, drawing on 35 years of HR experience, warned the town risks "losing candidates based on the length of time" and proposed brief phone pre-screening calls before formal interviews.
Library Director Darcy LaForte noted the role is "very public-facing," with little room for remote work. The committee recalled its 2023 search took from January to a June 12 offer, and is weighing trimming its seven-member interview panel to five questioners after past candidates found it intimidating. Members set their next meeting, an executive session to finalize interview questions, for September 15.
