Groveland Council on Aging logs record growth, moves to hire a remote program coordinator. Director Alyssa Lee told the board fiscal 2026 brought 5,474 duplicated face-to-face interactions, roughly double 2023's total, plus 1,400 service contacts in June alone. The board approved a remote-work arrangement for a returning program coordinator after consulting the town's personnel committee, with an offer letter already sent.
Formula grant funding was level-funded for fiscal 2027 at $16 per older adult, totaling $30,884, though the state plans to require more detailed spending reports starting next year. Treasurer Deb Stevenson pressed fellow board members on the COA's informal "ambassador" program, asking, "Which one of us is doing that?" about welcoming newcomers at events. Board Chair Sharon Hines agreed members should do more to introduce themselves by name.
The board approved its June 17 minutes and set July 29 for a long-delayed strategic planning session.
