Council on Aging · Meeting of February 18, 2026
Groveland Council on Aging survey draws 504 responses, dwarfing the town's own count. Council on Aging Director Alyssa Lee told the board Feb. 18 that the community needs assessment, running about 130 pages of data, found housing, transportation and taxes as top concerns among the town's more than 2,000 older adults, far outpacing the 120 responses a separate town government survey received. Lee also announced she was selected for a six-person statewide cohort to launch a cognitive stimulation therapy program for people with dementia, with training starting in March.
Board Chair Sharon Hines presided as the board voted 4-0, with one abstention, to approve January's minutes. Friends of the Council on Aging President Larry McElhenney promoted a March 12 corned beef and cribbage fundraiser at Bradford's Village Square Restaurant, $25 for the meal and $20 for cribbage, saying "it doesn't matter if you live in town" to play.
