GROVELAND — Three unopposed candidates, including newcomer Rachel Downey, will fill Groveland's library board as trustee Lindsay steps down after years of service. The Board of Library Trustees unanimously accepted the treasurer's report and the Feb. 11 minutes, and pressed Library Director Darcy Lapone on how the roughly $2,800 in warrants signed monthly gets divided among town operating funds, state aid, trust funds and donations. "That came from the town specifically.
So not donations, not state aid, not trust funds," Lapone said of the operating-budget warrants. Friends of the Library President Dale Angelico-Hart reported the volunteer group is down to five active members and will skip its spring book sale after two members' surgeries, aiming instead for Groveland Days. The library's Canopy streaming use spiked from 28 to 89 uses during a recent snowstorm.
