Groveland's Community Preservation Committee reviews 27 projects, warns of a $546,000 shortfall. The panel took its first look at fiscal 2026 Community Preservation Act requests, including a $1.6 million multi-year plan to light eight recreation areas at the Pines, prompting committee member Mike Dempsey to float bonding the project over up to 10 years. Combined, the 27 requests would leave the fund's general category roughly $546,000 short, members said.
A proposed Bagnall Elementary basketball court and play area, backed by $10,000 in parent support letters, drew objections over using CPA money for parking, with one member saying his "concern is using CPA funds to make parking lots." Committee member Linda announced she secured an outside grant covering the Washington Hall National Register nomination. No projects were funded; votes are set for February after proponents present January 26.
