Other Committee · Meeting of July 23, 2026

Groveland Recreation Committee advances trail bridge permit, weighs Center Street bike lanes. The committee, chaired by a member newly reappointed to the Community Preservation Committee through June 2029, reported roughly 100 trail posts still needed across six trails as part of its 2025 Trail Enhancement Project, work relying on volunteer labor. Member Emilio raised safety concerns behind a Center Street bike lane concept, saying "people crash into the trees in front of our property at least twice a winter," while the chair noted the road is town-controlled, not a state road.

Member Steve proposed opening riverfront land near Shanahan Field for small-scale events after a well-attended July 3 fireworks gathering there. The committee unanimously approved its June 4 minutes and set its next meeting for August 13 at 7 p.m., with a Select Board-requested mission statement and questions about inconsistent town recreation maps added to that agenda.
