Groveland CPC elects McNulty vice chair
Groveland's Community Preservation Committee elected D.J. McNulty vice chair and seated two new members before wrestling with a worsening weed problem in Johnson's Pond.
Other Committee · Meeting of July 27, 2026
Groveland's Community Preservation Committee elected D.J. McNulty vice chair and seated two new members before wrestling with a worsening weed problem in Johnson's Pond. The committee re-elected its chair by unanimous voice vote and reviewed roughly $175,000 spread across open projects, including $62,153 left on a trail enhancement project and the full $25,000 still available for the Congregational Church Clock and Bell Restoration.
A member warned it "really won't be too long before you're not going to be able to run a rowboat out from the Washington Street side," pointing to spreading lily pads. With Haverhill and Boxford holding portions of the pond and a private plant owner, identified only as Averill, controlling adjacent land, members floated hiring a consultant rather than committing CPA funds outright. Minutes from the June 29 meeting were approved with one abstention, and the panel set its next meeting, plus annual needs hearing, for September 21 at 6:30 p.m.
