Town Meeting · Meeting of March 16, 2026

Groveland's Town Meeting Study Committee leans toward electronic voting, rules out Saturday meetings for now. Chair Joe D'Amore said data from 421 survey responses show electronic devices could boost town meeting attendance by 10 percent with only about a 3 percent risk of losing current voters, versus a Saturday shift's 4.29 percent projected gain against an 11 percent potential loss. Member Jennifer Petersen priced out three vendors: Meridia at roughly $10,000 to purchase, Option Technologies at $6,470, and Echo 360 at over $10,000 with no on-site support.

"It's a highly favorable option with strong upside and very minimal risk of losing votes," D'Amore said of electronic voting. The committee also voted unanimously to send the Select Board a new document defining its own charge and purpose, and any voting-device rollout would not begin before 2027.
