Town Meeting · Meeting of April 2, 2026
Groveland Town Moderator Joe D'Amore previews a $25 million FY27 budget with no override needed. In the first of a planned roundtable series ahead of the April 27 town meeting, D'Amore, who also chairs the Town Meeting Study Committee, walked through a budget summary crediting the town's Finance Committee, noting education accounts for $15,615,902, or 62 percent, of spending. The plan eliminates four full-time and six part-time positions tied to the town's shift to the North Shore Regional 911 Center and a highway-cemetery department consolidation, while adding a firefighter, a police department clerk and a part-time benefits coordinator.
"We've got a good budget, and it's well funded, and we're not asking our townspeople this year for additional funds," D'Amore said, citing savings from a renegotiated trash contract and a lower Group Insurance Commission rate increase.
