Groveland Select Board backs compromise U.S. bicycle route, 3-2, routing riders onto the Community Rail Trail. The board voted Monday to endorse "Proposal 1.5," directing MassDOT to route cyclists along Seven Star Road, Governor's Road, Garrison Street, the Community Rail Trail, and Center Street into West Newbury. Two members preferred the original on-road King Street alignment, citing safety concerns about mixing long-distance cyclists with pedestrians on the trail.

In a separate discussion, the board reviewed athletic field permit fees with no vote taken; Town Administrator Rebecca Oldfield reported that Groveland collected $12,800 in field fees in fiscal year 2025, most of it from a single out-of-town cricket league, while spending $22,458 on fields. Oldfield also announced the appointment of Colin Stokes as water and sewer superintendent, effective January 16, and flagged a potential shortfall in the town's technology budget line that may require a transfer in May.
