GROVELAND — February 11, 2026 — Groveland Conservation Commission continues power line overhaul permit to March after agenda posting error. The commission voted unanimously Wednesday to push its hearing on a Notice of Intent filed by BSC Group on behalf of New England Power Company to March 11, after members discovered mid-presentation that the agenda had not properly noticed the required Groveland wetland bylaw review component. The project would replace all wooden utility poles with steel structures along approximately 3.2 miles of transmission line right-of-way through town, widen access roads to a standard 12-foot width, and create 1,966 square feet of wetland replication area to offset 939 square feet of direct wetland impact — exceeding the state-required minimum of 1,878 square feet. Tim Sullivan of National Grid, representing the applicant, noted the B154/C155 King Street tap line work is targeting a fall 2026 construction start, making the permit timeline critical. "We are really hoping to get all of our orders in hand to help finalize the 401 process," the BSC Group consultant told the commission. A site visit is scheduled for February 26, with the commission also authorizing up to $600 in maintenance materials for VZ Memorial Park and approving December 2025 minutes with a surname correction for member Stephanie Bartlett.
